Profile

Professor David Stokes has combined an academic career with a practical involvement in entrepreneurship. He is Emeritus Professor of Entrepreneurship at Kingston University and former Director of the Kingston Entrepreneurship Centre. He is Director of an electronics manufacturing company that he co-founded.  Following education at Oriel College, Oxford and the City University Business School, his management career has been with large and small enterprises in the private and public sectors. As Director of WestFocus, a consortium of seven universities, he had responsibility for the development of entrepreneurship education amongst students and staff of all disciplines.
David is the former Chair of the Higher Education Entrepreneurship Group of the South Eastern England Development Agency that includes 23 universities. He has published widely and is co-author of popular text books including Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship (6th edition) and Entrepreneurship both published by Cengage (Thompson) Learning.
